What product do you use to clean your kitchen sink?

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

I've been using Soft Scrub and it is ok..but I guess it doesn't get my sink (stainless steel) as shiny as I would like it to. I might start looking for a new kitchen sink cleaner just to see what is out there that I might like.

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

I use soft scrub or comet on all the kitchen sinks. The key with stainless steel is to rinse it well and then use a towel or paper towel to wipe up the water before it leaves water spots. You can use a little bit of windex afterwards if you want as well. Also, for the fixtures I use one of those special cloths from Target that are for glass and chrome (they are blue and cost around $4) to shine them up. They always look AWESOME afterwards-like brand new! It is really important with hard water to wipe up the water spots otherwise they leave a nasty film and stuff.

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

I don't use anything special. I just use dish soap then dry them up with paper towel.

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

Thanks for the great advice, Krista!!

I'll have to look into getting those cloths you mentioned.

I think I'll go put some windex on the sink now.

ugh..wish I was like that girl on the show Bewitched...one twitch of my nose and this place would clean itself!!

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

You and me both, Cheryl! I just use bleach. I don't bother with shining. I don't own the place and don't care that much about keeping it beautiful. Bleach kills germs better than anything else I know.

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

When I had a stainless steel sink, I cleaned it with Cascade liquid automatic dishwasher detergent. It really works. When I lived in an apartment, I was cleaning my kitchen one day, and couldn't get my sink clean. I thought, well, it gets my pans clean, so let's try it. It worked great. From then on, I always bought Cascade liquid for my dishwasher and used it to clean my stainless steel sink. We just replaced our stainless steel sink for a white one, so now I use liquid Comet with bleach.

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

I don't like chemical stuff so I use Borax. I have a stainless steel sink and it works great.

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

I'm also a soft scrub with bleach user! I use it in my sinks and also on the coffee spots that end up on my counters.

Re: Kitchen sink cleaner

I use dishsoap for everyday. But if it needs to be scrubbed, I use Comet (or whatever the generic equvilient is). I have a white porceline sink that is like 30 years old. Nothing else gets it clean when it gets stained.
