My husband

Tuesday, Mike and I were working in the yard, he mowed the grass, etc. Then before bed he shows me his elbow and it's swollen and he says it hurts. It was wicked hot and he thought he just over did it. He also has gout and thought maybe that was it. He continued to work and it would get slightly better then worse. Last night it was swollen to the size of a soft ball and all red. Today he saw our regular doctor who sent him immediately to the emergency room. He thought he might have an infection of some kind and that he may need to be put on IV antibiotics and/or that the site may need to be drained. Mike had it on ice practically all night and it's really painful.

Thing is....tomorrow we're having both boy's birthday party and about 100 people to our house. I have rented tables to set up, coolers, a bounce house being delivered, tents, etc. The boys are at school and I don't know if I should leave them there and go to the hospital or get them and bring them home first and then go or what. It's 3 pm and Mike called and he's still waiting to be seen. Zachariah has to be picked up by 5:30 and Noah by 6. I am also cooking for the party now making all the salads and stuff.

When it rains it pours. I know God has it all under control. Want to hear the funny part...Mike's plan is to come home....MOW THE GRASS AND GO OUT FOR TURKISH FOOD FOR DINNER!!!! Are you kidding me? They are talking about admitting him to the hospital and he's worried about where he's goign out to dinner. Do you see what I deal with?

Oh wow!! I hope they can get the swelling down soon and send him home to heal.

I'll pray that everything will work out.

Re: My husband

They let him go at at 6:30 but he has to go back in tomorrow morning to have it checked and and for more IV antibiotics. He should be home for the party. I have to run out now for his vicotin. They cut it open and drained it. He said it feels better but is starting to hurt now from the incision. He settled for Taco Bell on the way home and we ate on the deck. He came to his senses.

Re: My husband

Keep praying for him. His arm is now all swollen down to his finger tips. I'm trying to talk him into going back to the ER today but he's not having it. He just keeps popping the antibiotics and thinking it "looks better". He's on ceflex and another strong one.

Re: My husband

I know he doesn't want to go to the ER again on Father's Day, but it sounds like a must. Get well soon, Mike.

Re: My husband

We went back in on Sunday. More IV antibiotics. The swelling went down when he laid down and kept his arm up. They gave him a sling which he lft home and went to work today. We'll see how it is today. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts. He's on Bactrin and Ceflex orally 4xs a day.

Re: My husband

Still swollen but better, thank you. He actually has almost a normal range of motion back. He's been taking the bactrin and the ceflex with no problems--you should see the size of the bactrins. They are at least an inch long! Gag! Thanks for asking. I think he's on the upswing. It's just weird that we still don't know why it happened.
