baby sling

I'm not even pregnant yet, but since I'm a teacher I thought I'd spend some time this summer looking/making stuff I'll need for a baby. I've been looking around online for sling patterns, but there seems to be a few different kinds. Does anyone have experience/preference on type of sling? There's the type that's one piece of fabric w/out a ring, one piece of fabric w/ring, and there's the Maya(?) sling.

i had a maya and i could not figure out how to put it on properly. i ordered mine thru the internet, and it comes with a sheet on how to do it and a dvd on how to put it on. but still, i must be a moron, i couldnt figure out how to do it so i wasted 100 bucks lol... the dang sling is still in a bag unused...

I got a Moby D wrap (for a *really* good price, it was used like 5 times). I have tried it out on my godson, and *love* it!

I suggest, if at all possible to see if you have a babywearing support group in your area, and borrowing a baby if at all possible.

Try different carriers, and different positions, and then go from there! You won't really know how it'll work until you try it on, with a baby in it

Drew hated the sling that someone loaned us, so I never bothered to use one with Ally. I thought they would be great, tho.

We used the Maya sling and He always had the baby when we were out. Kangaroo Daddy we called him.

You may want to look at My Baby Nest or The Cuddly Wrap. Both are more of a wrap than a sling. But I think they are more versatile than a standard sling. Hope this helps

Maya sling worked really very well for me, I use it occasionally now days, I think it's the best, one should go for this one when it comes to choosing.
