RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - A group that campaigns for tribal peoples' rights denied on Tuesday that it and the Brazilian government had misled the media over photographs of an uncontacted Indian tribe in the Amazon last month.

I understand the motives were well intended, but it still annoys me this group lied about "finding" a tribe the Brazillian goverment knew about for 100 years. That's hardly a "new" discovery. I'm glad they'll be saved, but I think that could have been accomplished without the hoax.
