Does gender make a difference?

Jonathan listens much better to Bob than he does to me. He listens to FIL better than MIL. If his Sunday School teacher's DH is in the room, he does whatever he is asked.

Well, I've posted about the problems that he's had in school and the es I've had conferences and phone calls with. All women. DH told the principal that he thought that Jonathan just responded better to a man. But there's not a single male in that school anywhere. Not even maintenance.

Summer School/ESY started today, and his teacher is a man. He immediately ran up and hugged the guy around the waist and wanted to play with him. When I went to pick him up, the teacher said he was great and had no problems.

Does your child respond better to one gender over the other? I just find this an interesting coincidence, and thought I'd see if anyone had experienced something similar.

My kids listen to Jerm better than me...I think it's because they're with me all day or something.

Re: Does gender make a difference?

My kids listen to my dh better than me, but he is also stricter than I am. They actually open up and give hugs more to women. Maybe Johnaton has had bad experiences with women and now prefers men teachers.

He may respond better to men because they tend to be more structured and consistent and that is something he needs.

I think Drew acts better for male teachers than female. But then again, he behaves for everyone better than he does for me.
