PARIS - The case started quietly, when a Muslim woman who sheaths herself in a head-to-toe veil was denied French citizenship because she had not assimilated enough into this society. France's highest body upheld the decision, and politicians across the spectrum agreed it was the right move.

Okay, their country their right to decide who becomes a citizen an who does not. However, I don't see this as being a problem in the US. For one thing, if she wanted to be a citizen, she would have to pass a citizenship test that I understand is pretty difficult which covers our history, heritage and system of government. So, she would definitely know about her rights and voting here. Also, I think we try to pride ourselves on being a melting pot which includes at least trying to accept differences in custumes, religion and heritage.
