I am a diplomat, too, but I question that because so many of my answers would depend on the situation at hand.

Very true. Sometimes I am sure, I would fall into permissive and authoritarian. I do often try to let my dd solve her own problems with friends until the problem becomes my problem, then I take control.

I do the same thing. I try to let Emily work it out with whoever she is having the dispute with, and I only intervene if it is escalating or whatever. Sometimes I am authoritarian because I have no other choice. Other times, I just pick my battles and choose to overlook certain things. I am sure that is considered permissive.

We're Drill Sergeants. Acurate, although we do tend to let the older one get away with too much pushing of his brother. Zach gets angry and will push or shove Noah. Or Noah will take something to look at or play with or just "breathe" and Zach will knock him down. We should immediately put him in time out but usually I say "Don't do such and such again." several times. My mistake. They do get along but when they don't it's bad and Noah does his share of fighting too.

Of course, we've got the typical well behaved kids at school and church. I guess that's what you can hope for. So we must be doing something right.

Apparently I'm a pushover - too permissive. But they don't really give you good options on most of those questions.

With younger kids, you have to have more control. Brenda, your kids are older and have earned more freedoms. The quiz doesn't take into account the kids' ages.
