She had to have a D&C yesterday - the day after her 43rd birthday. As expected, it was rough for her. She has had several miscarriages in the past year. But I am not giving up hope!
She and I talked alot about Elizabeth and Stephen. She is going to help me find some wooden chairs for the table so the kids can all eat together. She is also going to help buy clothes and school upplies for Elizabeth, so I'm not footing the bill by myself. Bless her! And to top it off, she wants to give me some $$ every month to help out. We discussed that I can't depend on the parent actually paying their court ordered child support and she doesn't want to strain my budget any more than I have to. How sweet is that? Rick and I knew going in that it was going to cost more to have 4 kids than 2, but I never expected her to chip in. I wish I could say I turned it down, but I'll take help where ever I can get it. We are both hoping and praying that CPS calls this week to set up the home inspection - the only thing holding us up as far as we know.
She is feeling guilty becasue she couldn't keep the kids herself. But she works fulltime, plus she is going thru all the IVF - there's just no way. But I'm glad I could take this one thing off her mind. She said she is so relieved to know that the kids are going to a home where they will be loved. And they will definitely be loved here. I couldn't love them more if they were my own.
Apparently Kelly and MOm went to see the kids yesterday. They are staying with an older couple with no children. Mom said they were extremely nice people and the kids seemed to like them alot. And apparently the lady has been talking to both of them about getting ready to come here. So I'm hoping that means that CPS has told this couple that the kids WILL be coming here. Kim thinks the same thing. Great minds think alike, doncha know!
She and I haven't talked like this in ages. In fact, we hardly get to talk at all anymore, it seems. Between her life and mine, we both seem to be so busy. Thank God for the internet! Both of us are always dashing off quick emails to each other to keep in touch. I wish everyone had a best friend like her!

No matter how much I loved my friend, I don't think I could physically do it. You are a terrific friend.
