Soccer shoes

Where can you find inexpensive soccer shoes? Do you have them professionally fit?

I think we are going to have to get dd's soccer shoes at Shoe Carnival. She will have to have them professionally fit. I think soccer shoes tend to be narrow and she has wide feet.

Re: Soccer shoes

hmm...I'm not sure. Payless has cheapies. We don't have to deal with soccer shoes but we get Christian's baseball shoes at Nike.

Re: Soccer shoes

My kids just wear their sneakers to play soccer. My oldest is 8 and when he plays in the spring he'll just use his football cleats, at least I think they're the same thing, but that'll be the first time he's ever used any for soccer. If he can't use his football ones then we'll buy him some. We got his footbal cleats at Wal-Mart, they're Russell. The younger two, 3 & 5, we don't see putting the money into cleats until they get older and more competitive.

Re: Soccer shoes

We used soccer cleats for baseball, Wendy. Baseball cleats have one more cleat in the toe than soccer shoes. They worked well. It is very wet around here. The kids have to wear cleats to have any kind of traction on the soccer field. Plus I have two kids and two seasons a year for wearing them.

Re: Soccer shoes

I ended up rushing into Shoe Show to buy them before practice. They were $21. More than I wanted to pay really, but she will be wearing them for a year and they are adias. I didn't go out of my way for brand name shoes, they were just the only ones that fit in her size. Dd has little feet.

Re: Soccer shoes

We got ours at Dicks sporting goods when Darien started. I got the package deal (shoes ball, socks and shin guards) for an awesome deal. The next pair I got at the local consignment store, this years shoes were my nieces and next years shoes came from a friend.

Re: Soccer shoes

We got the package deal the first time too. When dd moves up to U8 we will probably get the package deal again. It was more than I wanted to spend this time, but about the same as Walmart. I would rather get the nicer shoes for the same price.

One of the other parents told me that once the kids get a little older, they have to have different cleats for every sport. That is going to be expensive. Lucky, I have two kids to wear the shoes.

Re: Soccer shoes

We got Drew's at Academy, but that was years ago.

Re: Soccer shoes

$21 for a pair of cleats sounds fairly good. I've bought good kids shoes for that much before.
