I'm stuck LOL

I have to choose a firm and a product that I'm familiar with and think of a customer it has not been sold to. That is the part throwing me off. There are lots of firms and products I'm familiar with but how am I suppose to know who it hasn't been sold to yet? (I'm guessing she wants us to pick a target market it hasn't been sold to yet..that is what I need to clarify with her)

I'm stuck!!!

Re: I'm stuck LOL

Thanks. I just sent her a note through the classroom asking her if she meant a specific target market or just anyone in particular.

Should be a fun class!

I have 9 more classes after this and I'll be done.

Ok...so I have to pick a firm and a product and seek out a new market for that product, according to my professor!

I'm so stuck right now!!! My brain needs a jump start.

Re: I'm stuck LOL

I don't have one yet. I need to think of one soon so I can let my professor know.

I was going to maybe do laptops in hospitals (remembering how bored I was when I was in there for almost a week in February) but then I did some research online and it looks like laptops are already making their way into the hospitals for patients...at least at the high-tech hospitals I guess. I also thought about segways in big corporations with big buildings or at airports for passengers trying to make their flights, but then there would be a legality and safety issue with those (insurance issues) so I decided not to do that.

So my mind is still searching....all while trying to do my actual work at work.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I just need to have a brainstorming session or something.

Re: I'm stuck LOL

You could try marketing Stanley Tools to women.... They are targeted mostly at men.

Re: I'm stuck LOL

Those are great ideas!

I did finally decide on one based on the fact that the population of the elderly are increasing as baby boomers get older. One need to be met is transportation for the elderly. I'm focusing on an airport shuttle business and having them expand into marketing to the elderly for their everyday transportation needs. I wrote about it in my blog if you are interested. It was making me nervous because I was running out of time and this decision will be the basis for my professional challenge for the next 5 weeks.
