RALEIGH, N.C. - A mental patient died after workers at a North Carolina hospital left him in a chair for 22 hours without feeding him or helping him use the bathroom, said federal officials who have threatened to cut off the facility's funding.

I just read that article on Yahoo News. That is horrible!

I have a feeling this happens all too frequently to mentally handicapped patients, or even the 'frequent fliers' that happen upon th ER's quite a bit.

They had barely fed him for three days, then forged documents saying they were caring for him. I hope someone goes to jail over this, because it is neglient homicide.

I hate to see them lost their funding, becasue that means other needy patients will have no where to go. But SOMEONE in that place MUST be held responsible for this! It's simply appalling that this poor man was just left there for an entire day!
