Icing a sprain ???

Ok, you would think with as often as I've done this I would know, but.. the ER doc yesterday never said a word about keeping my ankle elevated or iced. And now.. my foot looks like someone tried to over stuff a sausage. So, I have it up ( on the couch not at an angle or anything) with ice on it, because.. that's what you are supposed to do, right?

Yes, keep it elevated and iced....try to put it up on the couch on a few pillows...Ibueprofen for pain....hope it starts feeling better!!

Yes! Follow the acronym RICE: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.
Also, Ibuprofen for pain should help.

Thanks, They gave me this brace that doesn't seem to do anything ( doesn't hold my ankle straight or.. even limit mobility LOL not that I am all that interested in moving it anyway) And they gave me vicodin for pain but it is giving me headaches so I've been taking Ibuprofen.
