Do you let them keep it? Yes or no and why.

Re: Your child brings home a cute, half starved puppy they found...

I would have to say no, because our apartment complex doesn't allow dogs and we already have cats.

Hell no. We already have 3 dogs, 2 cats and 4 hamsters. That's all we need! But we would feed it and then take it to a no-kill shelter after loving on it quite awhile.

More than likely keep it, unless it was very sick. Then I would take it to the Human Society.

Depends on puppies breed and temperament. If I didn't keep it I would foster it and find it a forever home. Heck, whats one more critter around here?

DITTO
ok not that we have any animals, but I have five little boys and a husband and in NO WAY need a pet to clean up after too.

Rehabilitate and rehome the animal, or simply take it in long enough to make phone calls and find a rescue group or shelter to take it to.

No, we wouldn't keep it. But I would foster it until a permanent home could be found. I already have 3 dogs (that we are keeping), 4 puppies (that I am still trying to find a home for), 1 cat and a very large fish tank. NO MORE PETS!

No. I am not a dog person.

No ... but mostly because our apartments don't allow them. However, IF we lived somewhere that did, my kids would have a SMALL dog. I'm not an animal person myself but I don't know ... there's something about growing up with a pet that I think is important.
