TIP FOR MOMS - Kid's Birthday Parties
By Tracy Gibson
Ok, Moms, let's exercise a little creativity here. I know it
is easier to have a McDonald's or Chuck E. Cheese's birthday
party, but home parties are the best and the least expensive.
"Too much work," you say. Well, that depends. I pride myself
in coming up with ways to make fun as little work as possible
for mom.
Here have been some of my favorites:
QUEEN FOR A DAY PARTY - Come dressed as a queen crowns
provided. Making the crown was the craft. Just poster board
cut like a crown, holes punched in it with stings to tie it on.
Decorate it with glitter. We had a parade of queens and took
pictures.
DISCO PARTY - Disco music (be sure to screen the songs for
inappropriate content), wacky 70s outfits from the thrift shop,
decorate the house with lots of glitz. I used an instant
camera to take pictures of each disco diva.
CIRCUS PARTY - We set up our camping dining canopy and clipped
sheets all around it with clothes pins for the circus tent.
As each child arrived they chose what to be, lion, tiger, clown,
ring master (birthday child has first choice of this), lion
tamer, etc. Painted their faces appropriately and I narrated
what each performer would do.
POOL PARTY - Of course, you need a pool for this. They swim
until they drop.
