My toddlers are in love with BIRDS!! need some ideas

Destiny and my Cckids are fascinated with birds. They love watching them outback and run around flapping their wings as if theyre birds. Today for their art activity, i printed out birds coloring sheets had them color them and glued pretty feathers on them. i also am going to work on a birdfeeder for them.

it doesnt feel like fall time here till november or soo, so without doing Fall activities with them, i thought birds would be something great to work on. If you have any ideas on what other type of activities to do, fly them over my way

I got my dd a cheap ($5 clearance at Walmart) binoculars. I will post the link for the site we like to go to identify birds and listen to their calls. This is a big favorite of my dd's. Dh takes them to feed the ducks at the river while I am in my VA appointments. Once the leaves have fallen, we look for nests in the trees. My kids are nuts about birds. They even have bird stuffed animals that make bird calls. ( http://www.wildrepublic.com/home.html )

What about having them trace their hand and having that be the wings of a bird? Oh and playing with their shadow making the bird shape with their hands!

O YES!! those are both great ideas. im going to get them binoculars. they have trail parks here, that would be fun to do. lil fieldtrip =) Karen those are great ideas too. im going to use them. thank u ladies

Can you take pics with a digital camera and then have them help you identify the birds? I'm sure there are tons od websites that you can use for that.
