Has anyone read this book? I saw something about it or read a synopsis and decided I wanted to read it. I just bought it today. My sister said everyone she knows who read it loved it.

Re: 90 Minutes in Heaven

I have read that one and his newest one that is related to the first. Both really great books and shows how much one can endure and have a strong faith in God.

I've heard that everyone really liked it. There was just a speaker about it at the local university

I think everyone should read this book, even if they are not Christians.

Don Piper, the author, is a Baptist minister in Texas. Shortly after leaving a retreat/conference for pastors in January 1989, he was involved in a terrible wreck where a tractor trailer truck literally ran over the driver's side of his Ford Escort. He died on impact. Another pastor (that he didn't know personally) left the conference about the same time as he did, made a stop, and ended up behind Don by a few minutes. This pastor (Dick) came upon the accident scence, got out of his car, and was led to Don's car and instructed by God to pray for him, even though the EMTs told Dick that Don was dead. Dick even checked for a pulse himself, and there was none. He prayed obediently. 90 minutes after being pronounced dead, Don Piper came back to life while Dick was singing "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" over him. The book goes on to tell about Don's 90 minutes in Heaven (GLORIOUS!), and it outlines his struggles through depression and unbelievable physical pain and emotional pain. It tells how his relationships on earth as well as his walk with God were strengthened by going through all this. It's a moving and compelling story.

Sounds awesome! I'll have to see if I can find it at the used book store.
