Attorney: Paparazzi called in tip on Locklear

LOS ANGELES - A photographer who called 911 to report Heather Locklear allegedly driving erratically runs a paparazzi agency and profited from images she took of the actress's subsequent arrest, the woman's attorney said Wednesday.

Okay, the photographer was a slime for following Heather after the police told her to stop and for calling her sleezeball friends to photograph the arrest with her. But ultimately, Heather Locklear could have prevented all this, by not driving stoned. Calling 911 when someone is behaving in a dangerous way is not the wrong thing to do even if it did make this photographer $27,000. However, I seriously doubt she would have called in for Mr./Ms. Nobody who was doing the same thing.

Sorry, Heather, no breaks here. You know you are under the constant spotlight of those paparazzi wolves and you have the money to call a cab or hire a limo service to drive you home when you've had too much of whatever.

I do have some sympathy for these celebrities that get caught out like this. But they did choose a profession that puts them in this intense sort of spotlight and they obviously, usually like it or they'd do something else; like pursue a career in something incredibly dull like accounting. Accountants almost never attract the attention of the paparazzi. It's amazing how uninterested people are in seeing photos of a plumber or a garbage collector.

Re: Attorney: Paparazzi called in tip on Locklear

I'm sure she was following Locklear to try and get a "money shot" but so what if she called the police and still took pictures that she profited off of? They have ruled out alcohol but Locklear was still high on something and shouldn't have been driving. Regardless of why the police were called, if the call saved one life then it was worth it.

Too true. Ultimately, it's Heather's fault for being stoned. She could have killed someone driving like that. The photographer didn't create the story. If Heather had been sober, there would be no story.

I have no sympathy for anyone, celeb or not, who gets arrested for stupid behavior. I wouldn't get a break and neither should anyone else. You do something stupid, you pay the price.
