2nd out-of-state teen dropped at Omaha hospital

OMAHA, Neb. - A Michigan mother drove roughly 12 hours to Omaha so she could abandon her 13-year-old son at a hospital under the state's unique safe-haven law, Nebraska officials said Monday.

These people are idiots? Why didn't they learnt heir lesson last week after that girl was dropped by her grandparents? Call a frickin specail sessions and fix the problem before every disgruntled parent withint a 500 mi radius drops their kid there!

I am glad they are looking into this young man's homelife. Obviously, something was very wrong there.

BTW, his parents are married, so his father must have been in on this from the start. Can you imagine what it must have been like for him on the long drive to Nebraska knowing he was being abandoned and he would not see his siblings or family again for a long time?

The way the Nebraska law is worded, it currently allows for ANY minor to be dropped off. It was intended for newborns and infants, but they worded it so that any parent can drop any aged child off. And the kid/parents don't even have to be from Nebraska!

That's just sick! A newborn is one thing but a child who knows you're his or her parent is going to have some major issues. : (

EXACTLY! But they don't want to "call a special session" to formally change the law. Guess they think it would interupt the members "real " jobs!
