So yesterday, Ally wants to call Grandma to see if she can come over to play. When she calls, we find out that Brittany, Scott and Chris are thaking Scott's kids and Brittnay's son , Camron, to Chuck E Cheese. It's apparent to me that they were NOT planning on inviting Ally, but since she called, MIL gets on the phone and asks if she wants to go. I refuse to get upset about itI know MIL is just trying to make the kids happy. We are told that if we bring her to the place (about a 20-30 minute ride), then Scott will bring her home. Fine, I can do that. It' also apparent that my MIL is the one paying for this since Brittany isn't working and neither is Scott. So even tho we can't afford it, I tell Rick we need to give his mom some money to pay for Ally's share. (Chuck E Cheese ain't cheap!)
We get there, Scott and Brittany simply ignore me. Yeah, well, I'm not exactly welcome by the family since my outburst with Rick's Dad and since we have been riding Britt about the money she owes us. I shrug it off until they make it more than apparent they are don't want me there. Both of them flat out ignored me when I said something to them. Fine, I just walked off to wait for Rick.
I'm cooking dinner at 5:45 and we get a phone call from Scott telling us that we need to pick Ally up in about 30 minutes from his mom's house. The agreement was that he would bring her home (we're only 5-10 minutes away). I blew a gasket! He does this every fricking time! I made plans based on what he told me and now they are going down the drain becasue as usual he has changed them to suit his needs. I made Rick call his mom and find out why, since Scott hung up before Rick could ask. Of course she hears me ranting and raving in the background She also heard me say this will be the last time Ally goes anywhere with them. She takes it to mean I'm not going to allow Ally to go over there. That's not what I said. But I'm not depending on him anymore because he's undependable! Made sure Rick made that clear to his mom. I wasn't upset with her, but with Scott.
While Rick is on the phone with his mom, his brother calls on the cell and says he WILL bring her home, but again hangs up before we can find out why the sudden change in plans. Personally, I think MIL heard me and had FIL call him. I really don't care at this point. I have started dinner, taken it off the stove and put it back on again. Someone tell me what the heck I'm doing! It's only hot dogs, but still!
An hour later, Ally STILL isn't home and I am holding dinner - again - so I have Rick call his brother. They don't answer the cell but show up about 10 minutes later. Rick tried to ask Scott what the hold up was (since I had been holding dinner), but Scott refuses to answer and just rolls up the window.
With the exception of his mom and SIL (Scott's wife) his entire family sometimes drives me to drink! I could understand if this happened once in a while, but it happens ALL THE TIME! ARGH!
But no problems. I'm already personna non grata over there and I'm hardly speaking to some of them. You'd think that would make things easier, but noooooo......... *sigh*
I don't even want to think about the holidays!
