Re: HELLO and HELP!!!!

Welcome to Baby U?

What does your wife like? Is she going to breastfeed or bottle feed? Do y'all have everything you need for the baby?

I am a more practical person, so a ring or jewelry really wouldn't do it for me. Maybe a post baby massage? Actually, what I would have liked is coupons for help like diaper changes, nights up with the baby, night out with friends, puke clean up (there was a lot of that at my house! ), laundry, housekeeping tasks, etc. You may be doing these things anyway, so maybe that isn't something for you.

Re: HELLO and HELP!!!!

She plans to breastfeed...but we will see.

We have everything for the baby. We're pretty much totally set. I help out quite a bit (in my estimation). I will be changing diapers and cleaning up and stuff.

I was curious about something for her...doesn't have to be jewelry (not very pricey at $200, anyway).....but just curious if yall have any suggestions for new gift for mom....maybe something that she can keep (not a massage, or somehting that is "one and done.")

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Have a great weekend,

-"Stumped" Dad to Be!

Re: HELLO and HELP!!!!

Your wife is a lucky lady. BTW, congratulations! I'm afraid I'm not very sentimental. I would be fine with a card and flowers if possible would be pretty wow! for me. I really hate washing dishes, so if someone volunteered to do the dishes for me for a month, I would be

Those crystal baby fist statues you can make of your baby's newborn hand are really cool. Some women here have had a cast done of their preggie belly. Gerber sends out those mailers of tons of baby memoroblia like different engraved things and whatnot. I think Hallmark sells a lot of that sort of thing. I'm afraid I am not sentimental at all. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

Re: HELLO and HELP!!!!

Actually, if my dh gave me a $200 gift, he'd be taking me to the ER after I

Then I would probably freak out about the bills that didn't get paid!

Re: HELLO and HELP!!!!

Is she a "collectables" sort of person? How about something from Lennox China. You could get something as pretty as the Lladro figurines at a more affordable price.

You could get something nice for her and maybe a personalized piggy bank for the baby?

Good luck!

Re: HELLO and HELP!!!!

I was going to say that if she is into collecting things then I would get her a collectible, if not then I was going to say get her something that would be very helpful like home made coupons from you for things like dinner out......or hire a cleaning service so she doesn't feel like she has to clean when the baby is here, she can just enjoy that time....

Re: HELLO and HELP!!!!

You could start a collection for her. SOmething you would get her every year on your child's birthday.

I went browsing around for new mom gifts, and while I didn't find anything I liked, I did find this ... http://www.showeryourbaby.com/baba.html ... a must have!

Re: HELLO and HELP!!!!

Rick didn't get me anything (we really couldn't afford it). But the one thing I would have liked was flowers. Nothing extravagant, just something to say how much he loved me.

But what meant the most to me was him taking 2 weeks off when our second was born (couldn't do it with the first casue he had just started a new job). Having him with me those first 2 weeks was fantastic!
