Were you dh's/dw's family traditions similiar to yours?
We had a party at school, a parade, a costume contest, and the "scary" Halloween lunch, then we went trick or treatining.
Dh's family sat in the dark and prayed demons and goblins wouldn't get them.
He went to religious schools were they pretended Halloween wasn't happening. (I thought my family was weird!) His mom is still weird about all her grandkids toting, but she is outruled all other kids and adults to one in the family.
So this is dh's first year to tot in a costume. He's already making plans for next year.

I hope you have loads of fun now.

You are always welcome to start a new trend. I understand in some areas in Britian near American military bases, they now celebrate Thanksgiving.
