Plaster of Paris Handprint Hanging

I typically do crafts from things you don't need to buy, but I've had so many people ask me how to make these, that I've broken down and added the directions.

We are making these today for the grandparents. I made these as a kid. It's good to see I still remember how.

Re: Plaster of Paris Handprint Hanging

I did something similar for the grandparents when Joey was younger. We used home-made playdough, which I cut into large circles using a small pot lid, then he pressed in his hand print. After baking it solid and cooling, I had him stick his hand in fingerpaint, then place it into the imprint on the baked dough (he used a different color for each grandparent). Then I sprayed it with clear acrylic to seal it, and wrote his name and the year on the back in marker.

It was a much-appreciated gift

I was just thinking about these the other day thought it would be fun to make once the baby is here.

Aww, thank you so much for the directions. This might sound weird, but I wish I had them a few weeks back before my cat died. I would have saved a little paw print of him this way.
