For some women the excitement of a pregnancy is knowing they are helping someone else become a parent.

I figured this might end up as a debate anyway.

Re: Serial Surrogates Have Birthed More Babies for Others Than Themselves.

The whole surrogacy thing is all a little weird to me, but, you know, whatever floats your boat. If someone wants to have 20 children for other people, that's fine with me. I understand wanting to help others have children and all that. I just don't understand wanting to do it 11, 12 or more times.

The American woman seemed very ethical and sincere. The British woman who used her own eggs and refused to go to a doctor's office for the insemination, I have a bit of a problem with. She and her boyfriend appear to be living on selling their own children. Okay, only one set of new parents had the baby DNA tested and the baby was the boyfriend's not the guy it was supposed to be. But if she doesn't go to a doctor's office, how do the potiental parents know she didn't just throw his sperm away or was already pregnant and passing her boyfriend's baby off as theirs?

Her whole attitude towards the disputed baby was weird to me. She treated that baby like merchandise with a return policy. She was not an ethical person to me. If I had used her "services", I would have my baby DNA tested. After all, these parents are paying a lot of money for a baby that is genetically theirs. It should actually be genetically theirs.

Let me say, I have no problem with egg or sperm donation. The potiental parents select the eggs or sperm they want. But what this woman is doing is different. I'm glad they banned her from their national surrogacy program. She is not an ethical person.

I have been reading up on this as I think this is the next step a friend willhave to take if egg donors don't work. It's amazing what these women do for others.
