Who all is homeschooling?

We are still homeschooling. this year I am using Abeka DVD's and it isn't going like I have planned. She seems bored most of the time. So next year I will go back to teaching her. I am working on trying to find material that will work with us better. I love Abeka, but we really need to sit back and relax more...it takes us all day to do school and it really shouldn't. But anyway...I'll find something before long.

We are not your typical Homeschooling family. Logan and Ian go to a public Charter school and Duncan is doing Connectionsacademy.com
So.. he's at home, but does his lessons online. Most of them anyway and it is really working out well for us. He seems to love it, but we are talking about him maybe going back to school next year, if HE wants to. He loves being able to do his work when he wants to ( as long as he gets it done) And i love the support we get from CA

I wish we had CA here, but we don't. We've already finished all the kindergarten stuff and are moving into first grade work. Hopefully next year, we will be doing virtual school.

We hae Drew all signed up for Connection Academy. this is their first year in Texas, so thier school year didn't start until Dec 19th and runs thru Aug 15th. But, we are having trouble getting him started becasue they didn't have all the paperwork. not my fault, i had EVERYTHING when we enrolled him at the hotel with me. They never gave me a parental form for Rick to sign. And we had to fax his IEP so many times I was beginning to think they really didn't want us! LOL! Hopefully, all will be settled tomorrow (Wednesday).

We will always be homeschooling until the kids go to college.

We are eclectic and use a variety of resources. We use Acclerated Learning on CD, Abeka, Handwriting w/o Tears,
Kumon workbooks,etc. For the most part we are still doing theme units which is fun for the boys.

We can't imagine not being a homeschooling family.

Caitlyn said she wants to be homeschooled next year. I'm looking into Connections Academy for us. I'm thinking it would be awesome for her and her artistic self because we can do more in art than the school does.
