Anyone start a diet for 2009?

Ok so lets just say I'm a bit disappointed in my self but oh well that's life. I've managed to put on 10lbs in the past year and the last five just happened over New Years!!! So once again I'm going to try for that goal weight per Weight Watchers.

Anyone else trying to get healthy for the New Year? If so what are you doing? I'm counting points (WW) and trying to get in as much activity as I can. Stairs no elevator parking farther away, walks at break...

Re: Anyone start a diet for 2009?

I am trying a few new things which I hope will help me in several ways. I am trying 5HtP on the off chance I can go off my Zoloft. It helps the body produce more seratonin and melatonin. I am also eating a handful of almonds everyday to decrease my bad cholestrol and all the other wonderful things almonds are supposed to do. In a few days, I am getting my acai supplement which is supposed to help with energy, weight loss, inflamation, etc. I am trying to get back into working out five days a week. And I am trying to reduce portion sizes.

So, yes, I am trying to loose weight and become healthier in 2009.

I've joined the Slimbuddy site and hopefully can use it as a tool to lose weight. You can blog, journal your food intake and exercise, and get support from others on there who are also trying to lose weight.

I'm trying the pills. I bought 30 days worth, so I haven't made a big investment.

Well, that would be less than pleasant. I have looked all over the place for side effects and haven't found any.

Figures that I can't find the blog post now. Let me look through my puter history and see if I can find the page I was looking at. It was funny. But he didn't say the negative outweighed the positive. He wanted people aware that if you were allergic to berries not to take it. Because so many people forget it is a real berry

Well that didn't take long

http://acaiberrycompared.wordpress.c...-side-effects/

those were the only bad things I have ever read and if it works, what's a little gas...LOL

Re: Anyone start a diet for 2009?

I am not allergic to berries, in fact, I try to eat them everyday when I can. I read some people belch from it. If it does everything they claim it does, I can fart and belch a bit.

Re: Anyone start a diet for 2009?

Well I can't really 'diet' per say but I AM really looking forward to being able to go back to the gym in another 3-4 weeks if the doctor okays it! My doctor doesn't recommend exercising before 4mo and then my blood pressure has been screwed up so I have been too scared to even walk too much at the store etc cuz I get heart palputations. But when I get the okay it is ON! It has been really hard for me watching my body size increase so rapidly after working so hard to get it all off the past few years. I have days where I am really depressed even though I know that I am doing the best that I can to eat somewhat healthy while not feeling well and being preggo. It's just really strange.
Anyway, good luck to each of you with your new plan for 2009!

Re: Anyone start a diet for 2009?

I have started to work out a bit, and I am watching what I eat more. I actually had the willpower today to say NO to junkfood (I can never say no to that )

Re: Anyone start a diet for 2009?

Well, not a diet per se. Since I have been losing weight, but have no idea why, I figured I'd help it along. Planning on drinking OTS more water (something I'm really bad about) which means less DP, but I'm not giving it up! LOL! And I have been on a serious fresh veggie binge the past few weeks. Especially snow peas, tomatoes, mushrooms and scallions. Just clean'en up and eat them raw with some Ranc dressing. Man, i just LOVE veggies!

Oh, and I started using a smaller plate since it seems I am now eating and it just looked weird on a huge plate!

I used sparkpeople last year and liked it a lot for logging my food intake and exercise!
