I'm not certain about the spelling, but we're having the same problem with my 5 1/2 year old daughter. She just can't seem to get the hang of it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Tying Their Shoes!

I had found a few years ago a book that came with shoestrings and told about a little girl who learned to tie her shoes. The strings were half yellow and half green. When you laced a shoe, the book said which side the yellow had to be on.
The last page was a step-by-step colored picture guide on tieing the bi-colored laces. (Lace Them Up by Lily Barnes)
Brandon learned quickly with this. Angela is still fighting us ever step of the way. Of course every pair of shoes that was evr given to her were closed with Velcro. I purposly am avoiding the velcro now.

Thanks Jennifer -- unfortunately, that book is out of print, but I did find a couple of similar books.
Red Lace, Yellow Lace : Learn to Tie..
Tie a Bow, Ben Bunny : A Lacing Book...
I had not even thought about a book! I think I may try both of them ... we need all the help we cab get! Thanks for the suggestion!
