Fantasy Island' star Ricardo Montalban dies at 88

LOS ANGELES – Ricardo Montalban, the Mexican-born actor who became a star in splashy MGM musicals and later as the wish-fulfilling Mr. Roarke in TV's "Fantasy Island," died Wednesday morning at his home, a city councilman said. He was 88. Montalban's death was announced at a city council meeting by president Eric Garcetti, who represents the district where the actor lived. Garcetti did not give a cause of death.

RIP I really loved his work especially as Kahn on Star Trek. I think he was the very best of the Star Trek villans. And so handsome.

I had such a crush on him when I was little (Fantasy Island days), he was my very first crush (actually my only crush).

You're right about him as Kahn, he was amazing, he always had such dignity and grace it is hard to believe that he was always in pain, that walking stick he used on Fantasy Island was neccessary as he could not walk without it due to an injury sustained on a movie set when he was younger.

I didn't know that. He always seemed so physically fit and virle.

It was one of the old western type movies and the accident involved a horse.

to me he was the picture of an old fashioned gentleman, suave, sophisticated, welcoming and gracious.

I knew he had been one of the voices in Kim Possibel, but not the Ant Bully (haven't seen ti yet). RIP, Ricardo. We will miss you and your special way
