Are you using juice or suppliments? Have you noticed any changes/improvements?

I took my first suppliment today about a half hour ago. So far, nothing has changed.

Re: Who is trying acai?

You do need to give it some time!! I know that in a week I lost a pound but I think I gained it and a few of it's cousins these past couple days at the hospital.

Acai will have different effects on different people....and of course, it also depends in what it is with.

Re: Who is trying acai?

It is having a bit of a laxative effect on me, but I guess that is part of it at first as acai is very fiberous.

Re: Who is trying acai?

Yeah, it had that same effect the first couple days I was on it. ANd then I'm betting that those few days I was in the hospital and didn't take it had the same effect on Thursday (third morning without it). I took it this morning so I expecting the crap *snort* to continue for another couple days.

Re: Who is trying acai?

Anyone getting any "water pill" effects off of it? I am a weewee machine. Sorry, I wanted to know if it was just me.

Re: Who is trying acai?

Yup, me too, but I chalked it up to the dierutics I was on until I was laid up in the hospital and *still* needed to get up three times on one cup of water.

Re: Who is trying acai?

I've been on it a week and gained back my 3 lb lost. Of course, once again AF is visiting me. She was gone less than two weeks this time. Only two more months until I see the GYN. He better have answer for me and not just a lecture on my weight.

Re: Who is trying acai?

In my opinion, there's no miracle cure for obesity. I know you've all heard it before, but it's all in good nutrition and exercise. Boring, huh? ;-)
Anyway, I refuse to make others rich by jumping from one miracle pill to the next. It only helps them, not me.

Re: Who is trying acai?

I'm taking it ... but not for weight loss. I'm taking it for it's high antioxidant content ... gotta fight those free radicals.

It didn't work worth a hoot for weight loss, but I am still taking it for the same reason, Elaine.

Re: Who is trying acai?

Tempted. But part of me keeps thinking it's just another fad created by some genius marketer. The reality is to stay thin you simply need to exercise and eat real food (not snickers and fried chicken). The exercise part is easy if you have a keen friend who is into it... Kicking my chocloate habit is a bit harder hehe

Re: Who is trying acai?

Been there. Done that. I gained working out three hours a day and eating less than 1,500 calories. There is more to it for some people. I think it will take surgery to make me thin again. Because I have worked out until I got arthritis so bad I could hardly move. I have gone without food for two or three weeks at a time and I have not lost weight. I have counted calories. When even aneroxia doesn't work, something is seriously wrong. If I had aneroxia, I could get all the help in the world. If I weighed 700 lbs, Richard Simmons or Dr. Phil would foot my bill to thinness. But I am stuck at not fat enough to help, but fat enough to get chewed out at the dr's office without help.

Sorry to rant, but this is a really sore topic with me. And I have really tried for several years now.

Re: Who is trying acai?

I agree with you Lenora ... some people are genetically "fat" and other people have underlying health issues that can keep them from losing weight easily.
However, I think that when trying to lose weight, moderation is important. If you excercise excessively, like you mentioned, you will just end up with blown knees and a torn rotator cuff. If you cut your callories too far back, you end up with a body in starvation mode, fighting to hold onto every ounce of fat it has.
The key is to continue to eat, while making healthier choices and to increase your activity level whether by picking up an aerobics class twice a week or walking to places you would have before driven.
Everyone IS capable of losing weight ... there is just no definite formula that works for everyone.

I am going to get medical help with this one, because I have literally tried everything.
