Homework Problems.

I kow everyone hates trying to get their kids to do homework. My homework with Ally is especially trying. She's hyperactive and we just changed her meds. Since they only get 20 minutes at school for recess, she is super charged when she gets home. We used to do homework right away, but i couldn't get her to settle long enough for it not to be a HUGE fight - Usually ending in tears on both our parts.

Now I am trying to let her play for 1-2 hours (until it is dark) to burn off some of that excess energy and do homeowork immediately before dinner (which is normally about 6pm). She is supposed to be in the tub at 7 since bedtime is 8. Now I can't get her to do it because 1) she wants to keep playing 2) she is cranky cause she is hungry

I don't want to keep changing it and there isn't enough time after dinner for her to get it done. Any suggestions?

Re: Homework Problems.

We HAVE to make Christian do his as soon as he gets home. Otherwise, I just get whining and crying. Plus he has activities in the evening and doesn't get home til after 8 now. Which is a whole different story and I'm thinking of canceling those if they don't end soon because his grades have gone down
