Catch me up, please!!

I know I missed alot this past year. I just couldn't seem to find the time to get on the computer. So please save me from reading thousands of posts and tell me what's been going on in your life this past year!

As for me, I started working. I really liked it at first but it got really hard to find a babysitter when the daycare and school were closed. My kids come first so I had to quit. I'm trying to adjust to being a SAHM again. It's nice to have time to cook dinner instead of eating out all the time. I think that's where most of my paycheck went. To daycare, after school care, and eating out because I was to tired to cook. Dh started a new job a couple of months ago at a nice pay increase so hopefully we won't have to struggle.

What's been happening in your life?

Re: Catch me up, please!!

Um...... Drew was diagnosed as depressed, hospitalized, took him out of public school to homeschool. He's doing MUCH better now. Ally is now 8 (I joined here when she was 2 weeks old!), in 2nd grade and growing like a weed.

That's it! Well, the important stuff anyway! You need to bring US up to date on you and the girls!

How do you like homeschooling, Brenda? It's something I'm considering since private school is so expensive and the public schools here are crap.

Re: Catch me up, please!!

And here is MY update:

Kimberly is 7 years old now and in 1st grade. She just lost her top two front teeth and is adorable! She makes straight A's in school, loves reading and playing her Nintendo DS. Alyssa is 3 now She just had her tonsils and adnoids out on Wednesday and is doing great. She is so sweet, always wants kisses and hugs. She is going to start PreK 4 this coming school year. Probably just half a day.

Robert and I have been married for 9 yrs coming up in May. We are doing pretty good. He just started a new job a couple of months ago. I was a nice pay increase so hopefully our financial situation will get better. I went back to work to help because we were barely making it month to month. I dont think me going to work helped. I spent more on gas, lunch, new clothes, and eating dinner out because I was too tired to cook. Add in $500 a month for daycare and there wasn't much of my paycheck left over. Staying home, I feel more in control of our budget. As a matter of fact, I am in the middle of making us a new budget now. I'm just tired of living paycheck to paycheck.

That's pretty much it. I lead a boring life!

Re: Catch me up, please!!

um - lets see.

We sold all but one store as of April 07. You'd think life would be easier but its not too much - Kev decided to take on Church treasurer so that takes a bunch of his free time. He did stay home ALOT right after the sale and did some investing/online trading and made us a bunch of $$ to pay off some bills we racked up trying to keep the stores open while we were in the process of selling.

Alyssa (7) is in 2nd grade. Dances 4x a week (hip hop, ballet, tap & Company) Getting straight A's (for the most part - I don't count her current B in behavior ) She has lost 2 teeth and has a few more lose.

Kate (4) is in K3 (2x a week 2 hours each ) She's my trouble maker She dances too.

Peyton (2) has gotten an all clear on her kidneys. Her left was/is a Multi dysplastic and has shrunk enough to not have to worry. Her ureter on her right has opened up enough not to worry so we are on Yearly check ups at Childrens (unless she starts getting UTI's or Kidney infections) and we don't go back until October.

Kev & I talked about having #4 early last year. I really wanted like May/June baby but the more I thought about it Jan/Feb was better and easier to take time off from the store. So I mentioned it to him in May right after he got back from Denver and said I think Feb would be a good time (after he asked me if I was or not - We had been trying) but I'd have to get pregnant that weekend. He agreed Feb was a good time and said he'd make it happen. SO here we are weeks away from the birth of #4 whom the Ultrasound showed to be a boy (although my Dr is hesitant to call him a boy until he's here - she didn't see the ultrasound - she just gets results but not gender)

That's my quick update

Re: Catch me up, please!!

I can't believe how grown up your girls are Karen! Congrats on the baby boy!! The girls must be so excited!

Do you still work at the one store you have left?

Re: Catch me up, please!!

I worked up until December. I told Kev that I had no intentions of going back to work after this one is born. I flat out told him I don't trust him with all 4. (I'm sure you can recall some of the stories about what I found when I'd come home from work at night.)

He looked shocked and still tells them at the store that I'll be back - but I really don't have any intentions of it. I still do things (like deposit and bills) cause Kev hates those things. I want to enjoy what will probably be my "last" baby. I was back at work the day I got home from the Hospital with Peyton and never really got to enjoy her as a baby.

Re: Catch me up, please!!

I am finally divorced and getting remarried in Sept! He has 2 kids and they are here atleast 50% of the time so I am now a momie to 4. I love it! His son and Logan race motor cross together. Logan's ADHD gives us a run for our money at times but he is still my baby. Samantha is 13 now and will be in HS next year. Time flies!!

Re: Catch me up, please!!

Hmmm...I took some time off of BBU. I was just finding myself on the puter too much so I got myself involved in outside activities and just came back 4 months ago I think? I joined a gym, became PTO secretary and am involved in so many actvities at the school, I'm there a min. of once a week doing something for the kids. I've been there as much as everyday....lol Oh and my SIL had a baby in November and I watch Blake every day sometimes til 3 in the am

Lets see, Christian is 8 1/2 now. A year and a half ago we had his tonsils and adenoids out and tubes in his ears because his hearing was almost gone in one ear. Did well but his tube just fell out 3 wks ago and he failed his hearing test so we are back to the drawing board trying to figure out what is wrong. But he is in cub scouts, wrestling and belongs to a shooting club and a 4H shooting club. He's a busy boy...lol

Kel is 6. She started kindy this year which was sorta sad for me! And she currently only does Daisies in girl scouts. She used to do gymnastics and dance but they sold the studio and turned it into a freakin bar and she had do interest in joining a new studio--yay for me and 100.00 a month saved!

Den and i are doing great. Great marriage and relationship. He just made me dinner This past December had been 9 years for us. And we just had the talk about getting fixed so we don't have anymore kids. Love the little babies but I can't see adding another person to our family right now. If it happens, it happens but with having our nephew so much and our kids are so busy it isn't fair to them to have another one. I mean they'd be ok but I've made the decision not to do it again.

Re: Catch me up, please!!

Glad to hear that things are going well for you Michelle! I am sure that once you rework the budget you will find that you will be AOK

I think that you know most of my update but I will give ya one anyway!LOL!

John moved out June of '07 but our divorce wasn't final till actually a few months ago long ass story that I will spare you the details of! John didn't pay child support for a long time so we lost our house and moved into a condo this past June. Bailey and Emily started a new school but are settling in well. Zach is still able to go to the same middle school. Zachary is in 7th grade, Bailey in 5th, Emily in 2nd and Payton goes to daycare but does preschool stuff in class. She will be starting kindy this coming fall!
Met Jim in '07 when I worked at Zee...became friends then a few months later became more then friends. Hid it from people for several reason. Mostly cuz my ex was and Jim had to work with my ex MIL. Started doing cleaning in the fall of '07 with one of my childhood friends and then branched out on my own. Since business has slowed due to the economy I started waitressing about 4mo ago as well. It's okay-usually at least covers daycare costs but now they have drastically cut my hrs so we will see what happens. Found out I was preggo in Nov.

That's about it! The kids have adjusted extremely well. We've had some issues last Feb through the summer because Zachary's childhood best friend accidentally killed himself. It was very hard on us all and Zachary had some depression but he is doing really well now...it's coming up on the 1yr anniv. of his death actually.

I am really looking forward to 2009. New beginings, new baby, new president, (hopefully) new uprise in the economy by the end of the year..

Re: Catch me up, please!!

Nothing much is happening with us. Cara was diagnoised with Sensory Integration Dysfunction a year ago and has been in OT ever since. On the upside, Kate has improved to the point of not needing anymore OT.

Dh and I celebrated our 13th anniversary on Jan. 6. Kate is playing baseball in the spring and soccer in the fall. Starting next week, she will be a Daisy Girl Scout.

Grace, what is Sensory Integration Dysfunction?

Congrats, Becca!! Any plans for more more??

Krista, I'm so sorry about Zach's friend!! That is so sad. Do you mind me asking what happened? I'm so glad you are finding happiness in your new life!

Becky, congrats on the new marriage! I remember you separating from your husband. I'm glad the divorce is finally final and you can move on with your life!

Wendy, I'm glad everything is going well!! Is your SIL taking advantage of you for babysitting?

Karen, you deserve time off to enjoy your kids...I hope you don't have to go back to work.

Krista, how horrible! I'm so sorry!

There is such a thing as a "choking game"?

Re: Catch me up, please!!

Nah--she is a single mom. and the sperm donor is being mean and denying the baby is his so she cut him out of her life and is doing this on her own. I'm helping because I know how hard it is to do yourself but I had the added benefit of having the paycheck deposited in my account when Den was on deployments. She doesn't have that advantage so I will most definitely help whenever I can. I can't help her money wise but I can help her this way! And he is so dang fun that I don't mind it...lol. I remember how close I was to my aunts and uncles and I want that for this little guy too!

Not since she sold the site, but she's doing well. Her kids are getting SO big!!

My update:
Austin will be 9 in July and is currently in 3rd grade. He's doing fabulous too! Gets really good grades, sometimes just tends to be a 'typical' boy and gets an attitude, but he's been working on it at school and has been doing better.

Dylan will be 5 in April! He's just Dylan, got his own thing going on in his head. Plays by the beat of his own drums. He's a good kid, very smart, but very strong willed, and hard headed.

Matt and I just celebrated being together 10 years on 1-22-09. We've been married just over 7, but together for 10. Hard to believe I was 17 when we got together!

I'm glad to hear you and the girls are doing well!!

Re: Catch me up, please!!

Welcome back to The U Michelle! It's so good to see you on the boards!

As for me, I'm living in Ohio with my 3 kids, dating a great guy, and just got the all clear on my latest MRI. I'm still working for our local Goodwill as a lead associate and life is very routine which I LOVE.
