We still have a land line although we are talking about getting rid of it. I see no reason to have it except during storms when my cell doesn't work.

We only use the Trac phone during on the road emergies. Dh uses it as his business number too. We still use our landline as our primary phone.

We still have a landline for a couple of reasons:

1. I can only afford dial-up
2. My kids are home alone and need to be able to call me (we JUST got Zach a cell phone this weekend)

yep - we still do and I don't see us getting rid of it. Kev just bundled the tv, internet & phone together so its not going anywhere soon.

You get used to dial-up. It's cheap at least! I pay $11 a mo We don't have cable either and our landline only runs $35mo so I come out super cheap at the end of the month. I will say that I miss Cable a lot more then I miss high speed internet!

We have cell phones and a landline. We have two landlines because MIL has her own line in the basement.

We do only because we live so far out, no cell phone company has cell service where we live. So we are stuck with paying two phone bills. bleh

Just cell phones for us.. no point in having a landline. I haven't had a land line since my Mom passed away.. she was the only person that called the landline. well her and tele-marketers!

Nope--I haven't had a landline for a year or more. Then we just had it for dial up. And now I have my internet through verizon wireless with their USB internet card. We still live in the land of dial up so we decided to spend the extra money to get faster service.

We do. Some part of me feels the need to keep it "for emergencies". Plus it is bundled with my cable and high speed internet.

We have everything bundled together, too. Have for a few years. But we keep it for the kids to use. No way am I letting a teen use all of my minutes on my cell!

We do because we don't have cell service at the house. My husband has a prepaid Verizon for when he's out.

We have one, mostly so our parents can call us, My Dad and Des' Mum both have a deal where they pay $25 a month for unlimited toll calls to land lines so we have kept it for them (I'm pretty sure Greg and Trista have the same deal)

We have our broadband, telephone, foxtel and des' mobile (and anthony's as he only has one so we can ring him when he is out) in a package deal (that costs us just over $100 a month), my cell is about $18 amonth and ricky has a pre paid that we top up on xmas $30 and birthdays (probably $50 this time as anthony has already had $90 worth of clothes as an early bday present, his request not ours)

And I wouldn't want to unnecessary pay for a cell phone bill either.

Well, I guess I fall under "other." We don't have a true "land line", in that we do not use the telephone lines installed in the house's walls. We use Vonage, which is cable-internet-based. That's our primary phone line.

We do that because we can have a local Virginia number and a local California number (most of the family is back in CA - this way, there's no long distance charge for them to call us), we get all the bells and whistles (call waiting, caller ID, etc), and we get free long distance (so there's no charge for us to call the family in CA). All that for $37 a month. Cable service is additional ($105) of course, but we would have that even without Vonage.

We have a land line, but the ringer is turned down and people know to call our cell phones if they expect us to answer

Just wireless for us, we had the bundle but it was just a bit cheaper and with both of us having cell phones we didn't see the point in having a landline.
