I made round steak in gravy for dinner tonight and for the FIRST time....



I managed to make gravy with NO LUMPS!!

No matter what I always had lumpy gravy...don't know what I did this time but it was perfect!

Gravy's easy, hon - buy a packet of gravy, put it into a small pot with 1 cup of cold water, turn on the heat, and whisk it constantly until it looks like gravy.

Now, gravy from scratch... I never have any luck with. Congrats on the lump-free gravy, MeShell!

Good job! I know you probably don't have it on hand, but rice flour makes the smoothest gravy.

Yea I use to have the same problem with the roux I would make, finally I some how started getting the lumps out LOL

I've never even heard of rice flour.

My mom said I must have had the temperature right this time!

It took me years to be able to make and edible gravy! Easier to pay $.69 and use the Pioneer Mix!

I've done the gravy mix and the jars of homestyle gravy. Nothing taste as good as homemade though! When my gravy would come out lumpy, no problem...I just poured it through a strainer!

No, no, no! Use a stick blemder and blend the lumps into the gravy, silly girl! Oh yeah! Been there, done that!

Pioneer gravy mix is the only kind I will use. It's awesome!

i use a box of stuff called velvotine. it is a gravy thickener that never ever has lumps!
