Daniel Pharr says he was in the middle of his first-ever skydive, thousands of feet over South Carolina, when the instructor strapped to his back stopped talking to him Saturday.

Wow. Most people would've panicked, for sure. That military training and mind-set really saved his life.

He did a remarkable job, His parents must be so proud of him (when they are not having their own heart attacks at "what could have been" scenarios running thru their minds. What an admirable young man.

Amazing that he was able to stay so calm! His girlfriend and his parent should be very proud. I'm sorry for his instructor, but glad he was strapped to Pharr's back. I'd hate to think what would have happened had he been jumping alone.

That is amazing! Watch the Army recruit him for Airbourne.

I guess he would still be just as dead, but at least this way his family have his body unharmed and in one peace so they can give him a farewell
