Re: Stomach ache all the time?
Anthony is the same way (well he was when he was younger he used to cry if the background music was sad, he stressed out so badly about the chinese when the SARS virus went around and even what would happen if it came here.
he used to stress all the time about what would happen if one of us died, if both of us died, if one of his brothers died, Geez the other two were the more usual "How high is up" or "what are clouds made of". We realised fairly early on that just saying "That won't happen" didn't help, he needed to know exactly what he asked, If we both died, he and ricky and Greg would be very sad but that Grandma would look after them and they would all live with her, and Granddad and Nana Jean would come and visit a lot, and Nana and granddad would also come and visit. If we gave him the "you will be taken care of no matter what" speech he would calm down, pooh poohing the idea just raised his stress levels.
When Anthony was about 3 he started complaining of a sore stomach, many trips to the drs with no real results, xrays, scans (like yourself we were going with non frightning non invasive stuff) still no luck. he was about 2 mnths off being 6 when he came in holding his stomach on New Years Eve (Des and I looked at each other and thought Poor little bugger, here we go again) and he said those 5 magical words that explained everything "Mummy my throat is burning". I have had a bleeding stomach ulcer at 17 and fought reflux and Hiatus Hernias for years, I knew exactly what he meant, so gave him a small amount of milk and restricted and reduced his diet for the two days it took for the dr's to reopen and took him in and told the dr, we both sort of sat there and thought "Why the heck didn't we think of that" mostly it was because I thought babys got reflux not something toddlers who had never had any problems suddenly get, not to mention the whole 'stomach thing". but as the dr said most kids think of their stomach as pretty much the bit between their heads and ther legs.
sorry I can't remember how old Kelsey is either, but if this is what the problem is you will be amazed at the change in her. anthony took Prepulsid (an antacid that didn't look chalky LOL i think it was red, kind of like panadol looks like) four times a day and what a difference a day makes, honestly, his teachers couldn't get over it, he had never compained about it at school but he always took a bit longer to do a bit less than everyone else but literally after one day he was a different kid, he would write half a page istead of two lines, he participated in class discussions etc etc, it made so much difference to his school work, simply not being in constant pain.
I didn't know whether to feel happy we had solved the problem or devastated that it took us so long.
I hope Kel responds to the meds and gets to be healthy and happy.
