one thing that really helped me after i had my son was eating the south beach meal bars. they really satisfied my hunger and were a great source of protein!!! anyone else had any food preferences they liked when getting back in shape after your children?

Re: eating well after giving birth
This reminds me of a funny story. After my daughter was born, I was breastfeeding and on WIC. I had ZERO appetite and when I went in for a WIC appointment the lady was stressing the importants of adding something ... anything! she said, to my diet, because my callorie count was so low.
I really had no appetite at all (was a very stressful time for me) but decided that I had to try something. So the next time I was at the grocery store I picked up some "meal replacement" shakes and bars ... I think they were slim fast's high protein kind. As crazy as it seems, they sounded easier to get down than a hot breakfast.
So anyway, my next WIC appointment rolls around and I fill out the paper that says what I've eaten over the last 48 hrs. My callorie count looks so much better (in my eyes) and the Slim Fast bars are, by far, not the only thing on the paper. I guess the WIC nutritionist couldn't get passed them though because this time around I get yelled at about dieting while breastfeeding.

Elaine!
It was the same for me after I had Emily. I had post partum depression so bad, and I honestly was barely getting by, so eating was far from my mind. At the time it felt like all I did was nurse Emily and in between I tried to keep up with laundry, housework, and then I'd try to nap when she did. Kyle realized I was not eating, and so he went and bought some Ensure for me. For weeks after Emily's birth, that was my main source of nutrition.

I was right there with you Tammy. My relationship had just ended, I was moving back in with my mother, Grace had horrid reflux and screamed when I put her down, so I barely got out of bed the first 4 or 5 months of her life.- bumpybox

Re: eating well after giving birth
well the reason why i like the meal bars from south beach living foods is because they are so easy to take with me on the go and they are a good source of protein. i have been really into the peanut butter ones right now.
