Called to jury duty? Make sure you report by 8:15 a.m. with a full belly because you won't get doughnuts or coffee anymore.

Heck, if they want to save money being a whole lot stricter on these frivolous lawsuits would be a starter.

Good. I also liked the idea of not vacuuming a room that doesn't need it.

If he wants to save money he could oh say take a pay cut himself and come down and join the rest of the world

I agree that spending that much on breakfasts a year is silly. But I think there are tons of way to cut costs these days. They should let us look over their budgets and salaries and we can give them a ton of suggestions...LOL

There should never have been breakfast with jury duty. Eat b/f you go. It is your "civic duty" to go. Just go. I can't stand people complaining about jury duty. I've gotten called so may times I can't count. AND I sit b/f the judge each time AND then get dismissed by the lawyers b/c my father, grandfather, uncle, cousin(s) are police officers, my cousin is internal affairs for the state police so they don't want to touh me if the case involves police of any kind--they write it on the excusal from service form. Still, I've gone every time. Once I was offered lunch at a neighborhood restaurant and did take it. But I showed up with a packed lunch expecting nothing. I read the commens people made to the article and it's like they show up at jury duty expecting to be fed and are mad that they aren't being paid enough.

I got called when I was 14 once... I never went LOL, I did get one a few months ago, but I lost the paper and ended up not going either.... I couldn't go if I even tried anyways, that is when I go into my accident and couldn't sit down for longer then 20 min without being in HORRIBLE pain...plus I was preggo and I don't think they would have liked me getting up and peeing every 2 seconds.

Here, until recently you only got $6 a day for being on the jurym which is why so many people tried to get out of it. They just thios past year or so raised it to $20. We have never gotten breakfast or lunch on a jury pool. They only time they feed you is if you sit on an actual jury.

I was going to say when I got stuck on jury duty in SA in 1996, it was $6 and parking validation if you parked in a specific parking lot. $6 just barely, sort of, maybe, if you are careful where you park, might have paid for parking back then. Basically, they paid for my parking.
