Woohoo!!!

Well, I am officially....hmm, now that I think about it, I don't know if I am only 1 or 2 days late now....Anyhow, I was supposed to start yesterday and didn't. Still no sign of her yet. I don't have any cramps or anything. Which is surprising, but good. I am usually doubled over in pain at least 2 days before. And I feel nothing. So I have a question, how many days should I wait before a DEFINITE positive will show up? I have heard so many stories of taking a test early and it produces a false negative. Then people take it few days to a week later and it comes back positive. Correct answer? I guess there is none, but I was just wondering when a safe amount of time would be. Any suggestions? Pop 'em on over to me.

And to be honest, I am trying to expect AF so that I don't dissapoint myself, and I really truly was surprised when she didn't show yesterday. I just had myself convinced that she was gonna com-a-knockin'! But I am so happy she has not yet. Cross your fingers for me ladies!

I think I remember my Dr saying 10 days, but that was a long time ago (11 years almost) and tests are much more sensitive these days, so if she dosn't turn up in a couple more days and you can afford the tests, why wait, if it is neg just wait a few more days and do it again if old AF still isn't there.

When my period was late last fall I was too anxious to wait 10 days to find out so I took a home test the day after my period was due - my cycle was always like clockwork so I knew something had to be up. I took 3 different tests (had to because DH kept worrying that they might be wrong and he wanted to make sure ) and all 3 came up positive (I'm now 6 months preggers).

Each test said it was 99.99% accurate even when used on the first day of the missed period (and I used generic brand tests - walmart and osco brand). I didn't even wait and take the test in the morning - I took all 3 in the afternoon so they must be pretty sensitive to pregnancy hormones. So it wouldn't hurt to take one

I am with Alyse. I took mine 3 days before I was due, in the evening, and I got a (even though faint) second line. If AF still did not show, I think you are safe to test, but don't pin me down for it.
Good luck, and I wish it works out

Mine showed up early, too. My cycles were always like clockwork. I was supposed to start on Saturday, but I had been feeling really weird (dizzy) for a couple of days. So, I was hoping that I was. I took a test on Tuesday and got a faint positive. I waited a couple of days and took another one, and the test was defective. Go figure. The stupid thing fell apart. So, when I didn't start on Saturday, I took another one, and it was a really dark line in the positive area. So, who knows.

Good luck!
