Re: Baby Arrival & your Mom
Like Lenora, my mom tended to exaggerate everything, so I don't really know. My sister was late, I believe, and I have no idea about her labor because she was in twilight sleep for most of it. I was about a month early (my mom was a smoker, and I am sure almost 40 years ago, she smoked during pregnancy), and I can't remember what she said about labor with me, but I think it was pretty quick.
Emily was a week late and I was in labor 17.5 hours before having an emergency c-section. Travis was a scheduled c-section, so no labor or anything.
I would say my sister and I are most similar in our pregnancies and labor experiences. She had to have an emergency c-section, too.
It's like Liz said, they stay in until they are ready to come out, and as long as your doctor is monitoring you, then you should not really worry about it. Except I know you are anxious to see and hold your baby, and you are ready to not be pregnant anymore. We all remember those days!
