Baby carriers - help my back please!

Hello everyone

I do not know much about baby carriers - by this I mean a baby backpack that goes on the mother or father for holding your baby. I haven't looked into this much, and being a new mother, I think it's time for me to look into this purchase. I've read up on the internet briefly that some baby carriers really can hurt the mother or father's back. I'm worried about this as I was very athletic during university & will continue to be in future years. So, I don't want to ruin my back.
Can anyone suggest anything? Any brands that are good? or certain types that I should be looking at... I've seen some where there is a strap over one shoulder... I don't think that would be good. Actually, when I was in university, I used a one-strap bag for 2 years, then I switched to a backpack because I could just feel that the one-strap over the shoulder was bad.

Please help, thanks!

We had a Baby Bjorn too and it was fantastic. My husband has a bad back and even he found it very comfortable. They are very well made.

The Baby Bjorn was by far my favorite! It's pricier than a carrier you can get at Walmart but so worth it.
