Last week my mom called and let me know that her BP (blood pressure) was 180 over 100. Extremely high! She has been on meds since my dad had his surgery over a year ago. She went back a few days ago and it still hasn't come down. She quit her job (at least part of the reason for the high BP) and called me in tears. Now, my mom just doesn't cry, you have to understand that. She's probably the strongerst person i have ever know, but she was just devestated. Not only was her BP still thrut he roof, but they did an untrasound of her heart and they told her her heart is weak. About 10% weaker than it shouldbe. What she didn't say (but I know) is that she is now a walking candidate for a heart attack.
I am devestated. my parents NEVER get sick, but in the past few years they have been slammed. Dad (60) and mom (63) have always taken VERY good care of themselves. I can't deal with this!
Anyway, i wasn't going to visit during Spring Break next week becasue we can't afford it. But mom called and begged me to come, so I'm going. Rick was talking to a friend of ours and he is going to give us some money to pay for the gas and stuff for the trip. Steve lost his mom last November and he is very close to us. Bless him!
Anyway, please say some prayers for my mom and dad. Dad leaves for Venezuela on Monday, so I will only get to see him for a day or so before he leaves - part of the reason I'm going is so she won't have to be by herself going to the doctors, etc. I would appreciate any pryaers and good thoughts you can send.
I don't normally ask for prayers, but this is one time I am begging. I just can't handle the thought of losing my mom.

i will keep your family in my prayers. It's really hard when a parent is sick... i understand.
I will keep your mom, you and your family in my prayers. It is very hard to watch parents get sick and go through health issues.
