First Birthday (boy) Party Supplies UGH!

Ok in one of my posts a few weeks ago I told you guys I like to plan stuff a month or two in advanced. So I started planning Logan's b-day last month.

I wanted to make his invitations on my own and I didn't want an actual theme when I started planning. But as I was making his invitations, I found a little picture that I put on it, lost it somehow, and when I went to look for it again. I ended up finding the whole entire set online.

I ordered it, got 10 things for $20 plus $9 to ship it. I ordered it on the 2nd, it was supoused to be here that following monday at the latest, it wasn't. I called and the lady said "Well we emailed you asking if you wanted to cancle your order" I asked why I would want to do that and she says "well since that line is being discontinued, we only had two of the 10 you ordered"

I was mad. I did cancle it, but now I am stuck with finding a new theme (bc now I'm hooked lol). I went to a local party supply store that I heard good things about. I normally go to Factory Card Outlet for party supplies, but since it was local I went there.

The guy met me at the door, and asked if there was anything in particular I was looking for and I said first b-day supplies. He took me back and showed me like three different ones and two were Characters.

I'm picky I don't want characters, in my opinion its overdone, I like different so I told him I didn't want characters. His wift emerges from the back office with a book and said we are going to order this. It was Back at the Barnyard(or w/e that movie is called) I told her again I don't want character and she said were going to try to order this one also.

She flippes though the book and points out a jungle that had elephants on it. I said that would work, Logan likes elephants. Then she says "we might not be able to get all of it, I ordered it last time and it all didn't come, just the napkins" I was starting to get angered, why would she show it to me if she knew there was a possiblity that it would not come?

I asked her about a bear that I seen and she says "I'm not going to order that one bc we have Pooh, when ppl want a bear, they want Pooh not a regular one like this"

That was all I coud take. I asked her what the theme was called and I would see if I could order it online, she was hesitant and then told me, and me and Shane left.

I found it online thank goodness. I also noticed that they really don't have too much for boys. Its all the generic fire trucks, characters, and race cars. We are country ppl, and I kind of wanted to find country themes, but nothing. I found John Deere, but it was for age five. bleh.

Did you ladies have trouble with theme parties for your boys?

Re: First Birthday (boy) Party Supplies UGH!

I've always used Oriental Trading and Birthday Express online. I use these 2 for all my party supplies. Jimmy wants Indiana Jones but we are going to take some friends and family to the indoor IX Amusement park since his birthday is in April.

Re: First Birthday (boy) Party Supplies UGH!

I did order some inflatable stuff from Oriental trader for a party and I was kinda pissed, it had a huge hole in it! Everything else was good though. So if you get anything inflatable, just order it wayyy in advance just incase. My party was the next day so I didnt have time to return it.

The Teddy theme is very cute.

For Jerrens first b-day I think I am going with the hot wheels thing they have ^_^
