So I was at my parents house with Jerren and the discussion came up of cleaning his gums.. I didn't know I needed to... My dad said they cleaned my gums when I was a new born..wow NO one told me this until now...

So do I need to clean his gums?

My dad said use a wash cloth but I would rather use something else.

Re: Baby gum cleaning?

You can use a washcloth. If you'd like to use something else, just check in the baby care aisle at any drugstore or Walmart....Baby oragel has a set with a little soft "scrubber" brush that goes on your finger and cleaning gel that is safe to use with babies.

I was told I didn't need to do anything except use a washcloth for thr first few months. And yeah, i never knew anything about it until my OB mentioned it at Drew's 2 week check up.

Re: Baby gum cleaning?

My Ped told me not to worry about it until I started to see his teeth come though, and/or he starts eating solid foods prety regular.

We got the tooth and gum clenser like one of the other ladies suggested when he was about 3 months. Used that until his teeth was completely though, then had to get a regular tooth brush bc he bit me a few times and would not let loose lol.

He loves to brush his teeth. We brush them, then let him take control.

Re: Baby gum cleaning?

I believe itz all up 2 you but I think it could help to just wipe out with a warm rag. His eats more than 3 times a day so you wanna keep that milk film from building and when he start jar f00d and solids you should really do it..
I started my daughter at like 2 months
