Major Fatigue

I have been completely wiped out all week. I have NO energy, I can barely function, it seems. I get the kids off to school, then go back to bed between 9 and 10 and then sleep till 1 or 2. Even then I'm tired. Yawning all day, no energy to get anything done. And the few things I do manage to get done, totally exhaust me. What is up with this?

I have even been going to bed early (by 10:30), and those of you who know me KNOW I never go to bed before 1 or 2AM.

Any clues? Rick was worried that I was getting the depression back, but that isn't it. that feels totally different than this. This is just bone weary, like I've been super busy or something.

Re: Major Fatigue

It sounds like stress from doing too much. I guess from experience I would say maybe try getting more iron into your system and drink plenty of fluids.

Are you feeling ok other than being tired?

Re: Major Fatigue

It might possibly be stress over worrying about your mom. I would say try to relax a little and see if that helps out.

Re: Major Fatigue

Have you looked into Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Here's more information:

I think this has been going on for a while now. Perhaps it is time to see your dr?

Re: Major Fatigue

also Vitamin deficiencies can cause fatigue like that. If my B12 drops too low I have no energy, and a friend just had similiar symptoms from lack of Vitamin D (although living in TX I doubt that's a problem)...

Re: Major Fatigue

Are you getting enough water? Dehydration can do that, too. And the stress of all the goings-on in your life isn't helping.

Re: Major Fatigue

It could be partly that I'm not getting enough water. That has always been a problem for me.

I know it's not an iron deficiency - I have so much iron I can't take regular vitamins - they make me sick. I havd to take senior vitamins! But I will admit I haven't been taking in in the last year or 2. I simply can't stand the taste they leave in my mouth.

Stress is another possible culprit. God knows I'm worried about my mom, our finances, and Drew.

I haven't had my thyroid checked in ages. But I'm due for my pap next month, and I need a cholesterol check, so I'll see if they can check for that at the same time. Heck, I need to just have a full physical.

Besides getting sick more this year than ever before, I seem to be fine except for being tired all the time. Maybe it's just my body constantly fighting stuff off this year. I know that when I am sick (or getting sick) all I want to do is eat and sleep.

I wondered if my weight loss had anything to do with it. I was down to 158 the last time I checked. In january 2008 I weighed 205. I'm not trying to lose weight, I'm simply losing it. I still eat whatever I want, I'm just eating less cause I'm not hungry. Guess it's time to askt he doc about it. Maybe once I get the rest of the family better. Probably next week.

Lenora, I'm going to check your link. I'll let you know. Rick mentioned that, too.

Re: Major Fatigue

OK, it says CFS can be caused by substance abuse. Guess all those DP's are finally catching up with me!

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Re: Major Fatigue

CFS is an umbrella nomenclature. It could be about anything. Send that weight loss pill over to me, I could use it!

Re: Major Fatigue

chronic fatigue and unexplained weightloss and many infections, Gee maybe you should look at some of ricks info on diabetes. Those are classic early warning symptoms of type 2 diabetes (type 1 as well for that matter).

If rick has test strips or a blood glucose moniter, check your blood and urine for sugar and ketones.

Re: Major Fatigue

I check my bood sugar at least once a week. It hovers around 75 or 80, depending on what time of day I take it. So I'm good there. After I pay the bills, I am makking an appt for a check up.

Re: Major Fatigue

There may be many reasons for each, such as toxicity, malnutrition, lack of sleep. However, I see the main reason for both in acidity. I try to take more and more alkaline-forming food and have seen improvement.
