Hey ladies, I just joined this site and Im pretty excited. I have a questioned about feeding solids I hope this is the right area to post this... My daughter will be 7months next weekend. She started solids at 6months, my question(s) are.... How much to feed her.. Right now Im just doing breakfast and dinner solids... How much should she be getting each time ? Does she have to have the cereal or can I just give her pureed food?? Thanks :]!!!

Re: Solid foods...

She doesn't have to have cereal. My daughter would never eat it. I can't remember how I knew how much to feed them at a time. I think I just really followed their lead with it.

Re: Solid foods...

If I remember correctly, at the age mine were eating:

breakfast: rice cereal with 1/2 jar of fruit
lunch: pureed veggie
dinner: 1/2 jar veggie and 1/2 jar of fruit

I always followed their lead. If they wouldn't eat it all I didn't force it. I just made sure the option was there and let them eat til they were full.

thanks ladies. I basically do go with her lead, expect I almost think she is over eating. She is already pretty chunky hehe, but she eats over a jar she can eat around 2jars and its only her 2nd week of fruits/veggies

Re: Solid foods...

My Ped has a suggestion menu for different age ranges and stages. MeShell said almost the exact same thing as the menu said for this stage.

I will grab it tomorrow morning and PM you a few things from the pages if you would like.
