LONDON (Reuters) – People with multiple sclerosis may have a lower risk of cancer, possibly because of lifestyle changes they make after they are diagnosed with the neurological condition, researchers said on Monday.

I knew it! I told the VA it was a waste of time to test me for anything but brain cancer, because I wasn't going to get cancer because I already had MS.

Well maybe this is a silver lining? My aunt has MS, and it's awful. I am glad you don't have to worry about cancer on top of MS.

Re: Multiple sclerosis may lead to lower cancer risk

Because MS is a hypervigilant immune response to the point of attacking the patient's body, I figured any cancer other than brain cancer would get nixed quick. Also, I don't smoke which is a major cancer cause. If anyone much reads this, it will cause a stir, but I think milk contributes to breast cancer. I have my reasons for my theory, mainly I have known lots of women with breast cancer: a) most of them smoked heavily and 2) they were heavy milk drinkers and ate loads of dairy products. I think there is a big taboo out there about looking into anything that says milk may be bad for people. I know I probably won't get breast cancer because 1) I already have MS and women with MS have much lower breast cancer risks (according to one Isrealli 40 year study cancer rates in women with MS were 3.5%. For breast cancer, it was 1.7%. Note: People in the MIddle East don't drink a lot of cow's milk. Their dairy products there are usually from goats.) 2) I breastfed for over 4 years, 3) I had babies, 4) I have never smoked, 5) I have no family history of the disease, and 6) I don't drink milk.
