Brenna is a new "Big Sister"

and I had no idea
I stumbled (okay so I checked) on Shane's fiance's myspace page this morning. I hadn't looked at it in quite a while so I'm not sure what made me do it today, but I realized that she had her baby about a week ago. It's weird thinking that I didn't know considering Shane dropped Brenna off here on Saturday and said nothing. I'm actually okay with it all and rarely think about that situation any more. Time (and new love) have definitely numbed the feelings from the past. Anyway, Brenna is a new big sister and I'm wondering if it is appropriate for me to get the baby a gift (from Brenna) or if I should wait until something is said first.

I don't think I'll ever understand Shane! He has always baffled me.
As for the gift, I don't know. I don't think I would get the baby anything from Brenna until they tell you. Mainly because Shane and the fiancee will wonder how you knew, or they will know that you looked at her myspace page, which might fuel her flames. Isn't she the one who called you not that long ago? Yeah, I would wait until Brenna went back over there and just see if anything is said. You don't want them to know that you looked at her myspace page or that they are ever a thought in your mind (which I know that really they are not so much anymore).

You think that he would want Brenna to know that she has a baby sister now, don't you???

Anyway.. I would probably wait.. or if you do get them something just say that you knew that the baby would be here soon?? Just kind of a small white lie???

Has the birth been announced in the local paper? Once it is in the paper, there can be no nefarious thoughts on their part. Of course, you could always say someone told you. I would go ahead and get a small gift, so they know you are not harboring a grudge or holding onto any feelings. Also, you want to start Brenna off on a good foot with her new sister. A small toy or something would do.

I wouldn't get a gift unless there was some way you could know without it coming from MySpace. Could you ask Brenna if she knew then say she told you? ;-) I agree with Tammy--Shane always baffled me too. Glad you seem ok with this and are happy now!

I would get her something small from Brenna. It's not like you didn't already know she was pregnant and had to be due around this time. But do whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Well Shane dropped off Brenna on Sunday and while he still didn't say anything about the baby, Gracie was holding a picture and after Shane left I asked her about it and was told it was her baby brother.

Well, I guess you have officially have been told (in kind of a chicken poop way). Now, you can do whatever it is you want to do. I wouldn't go all out for them. It's not like they have been nice or anything.
