Thanks Elaine!

I went into the master bath the other night and found an open bottle of Pepcid Complete tablets (65 in the bottle). There were 9 left. I asked Mike if he took them, no. Zachariah, no. Noah, no. I asked Noah if they tasted good he said yeah. I checked the label and it said to call poison control. I had to bottle for 2 year and I expired this month. I guessed he took about 10 of them. I was panicing that it has appirin in them like Brenna's incident--Pecid = Pepto was all I could think. They asked me the ingredient and first thing I asked was if any of those things contained any aspirin. She checked immediately and said no. Thank God. I told them there were maybe 25 at the most leaft. But they put me on hold and said he should be ok with the max doese he could have taken. He would just have a dry mouth, drowsiness (yeah! b/c by then it was 10 pm) and dizziness. Thanks Elaine. I knew what to do and stayed calm. My husband siad it was just an antacid and he'd be fine and then i told him about Brenna and he ran down for the poison contrl #

Re: Thanks Elaine!

Aw, hun, I'm so glad that it turned out okay.
It's so important to keep medicine of any kind up and out of reach of small children but everyone slips once in a while and accidents DO happen so it's also important to KNOW the medicines that are in your house. Before the incident with Brenna I couldn't have told you what meds were floating around my house or where they might be ... As scary as it was to go through, I'm glad that it taught me to be more aware.

I think that happens at least once in every home.

Re: Thanks Elaine!

We keep everything up on a high shelf over our washer and dryer in the laundry room. One first aid box. One adult over the counter box. One childrens med box. The meds we take daily are in a basket in the master bath with child proof lids but now I'm scared of those. I had forgotten about the pepcid in the bottom drawer of the vanity. Sometimes I wake up at night and would take one. But I thank God I read Elaine's post and knew what to do.

Way to go knowing when to ignore the DH.

I know a situation like that can be frightening. I'm glad everything turned out OK.
