April 9, 2009 — Actor Robert Pattinson won the hearts of millions of teenage girls in the abstinence-focused Twilight. How should educators and parents handle his next film, Little Ashes, and its passionate gay love affair?

I don't know how many people have teens or preteens interested in this guy, but this seemed good to know just in case your teen wanted to see this movie.

I asked the same question when the guy who plays Daniel Radcliffe appeared naked with a horse in a movie a few years ago

Really, they should be able to play whatever role they want to play. It is up the PARENTS not the actor to make sure their kids watch age appropriate movies. Will it hurt the Twilight movies? Nope, not anymore than he already has while he has been hopping from what actress to another in real life.

It's just a role he playing. It's the parents who need to watch what their children want to see to make sure it is appropriate for them at their age.

I posted this so y'all could know what this movie was really about before letting your kids to see it. It's not one of those things you want to be taken by surprise by.

I actually want to see Little Ashes while I had no interest at all in Twilight. It's the story of Salvidor Dali ... I don't know how accurate it is but it sounds interesting none the less.
I can't see Haley being interested in it in the first place BUT if she were, I'd probably let her know ahead of time that there is a gay sex scene (it's supposedly pretty steamy) ... at her age, she gets more embarrassed by those scenes than anything else.

I asked dh about that, because he has taken so many art history classes. He said Dali did have a relationship with this famous poet as a young man. The poet worked as Dali's model. I can see where there might be a lot of nudity in the movie as artists often have their models pose in the nude.

The film sounds very artsy to me. I can't image the majority of teens even being interested in it if it weren't for this actor.
