Swine Flu..WTF

Ohkay so does anyone know more about the swine flu that has been killing people?? 3 or 5 people had it in LA and they are now fine supposedly. Itz bad in mexico and other countries are telling their citizens not to visit the us or mexico unless necessary!! The news is telling everyone to wash their hands often and stay away from sick people!!
So wow hopefully they find a cure and a vaccine for this soon!!

The swine flu has caused close to 150 deaths in Mexico so far but no deaths are reported here in the US although there are several confirmed cases of the sickness.
I've seen more information online about it than I have on the news...

The deal is this: though there have been a lot of deaths in Mexico, there have also been a lot more cases there total. All the stuff I've read and heard said it's not any more fatal than what usually goes around, it's just a different strain. A lot of people die each year from the regular flu as it is, so if people would just wash their hands and practice good sanitation it wouldn't be such a big deal.

My dh and I have been talking about this. Mexicans eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Americans eat a lot of stuff with artificial everything and preservatives. Save yourself! Eat more Twinkies!

I do know that it presents similiar to regular flu. There is an elementary school local to Cleveland that is closed this weekend because a third grader has it. He spent (I think) two weeks in Mexico.

Fortunately, we don't travel and no one here is sick. (Knock on wood!)

The mom of one of my tutoring students just went to Cancun about a week ago. She came home feeling bad, but it was like she had a tummy bug. I am really paranoid about it now! From what I have read, the cases in the US are much milder than what is going around Mexico.
