Hi everyone!! I can't believe I haven't been here in a few years. Time has really flown by for us. Last I updated was August 2006...and my husband had just passed away in April of that year. I can't begin to tell you what a journey it's been since then. Dh donated his organs, and I became one of the Ambassadors for the Organ Sharing Alliance and I do public speaking events now in front of medical teams. I educate them on what to say and what not to say basically when trying to approach a potential Organ Donor's family. I would NEVER want their job, btw. This has really helped me in the healing process.
My girls, Bailey is now 8, and Allyson 'aka. Ally' is 7. They just graduated 2nd and 1st grades and are loving the few days they've had of summer break so far. We were in counseling for about 2 years and just stopped going in March of this year. We found out that what Dh died from was partially due to a blood clotting disorder that he has passed on to our children. I had the kids tested last August and when we got that same positive result for the kids...my heart sank. They aren't on any aspirin regimen, or shots, but I do have to monitor their diet and fluid intake, as well as double them up on daily kids vitamins b/c they aren't absorbing them the way a normal person should. So far so good. They did have to go in and both had their tonsils and adenoids removed in Feb. of this year. That was a HUGE blessing b/c now they aren't sick anymore. We had strep every month in this house for about 6 months and it was a nightmare!
I am dating again. It took me 1.5 years and still I wasn't ready to commit to any 'title'...so we just remained friends until I was ready. He's a very patient and loving man and loves my children so much. (Me too of course.
)
His name is Rowland (aka. Ro, or Rollie). No engagement ring yet, but I'm sure it's coming any time now. I'm very happy with the way things are going for me and my little family.
I am excited to get caught up on the boards and meet some new people! Yay. If you remember me, drop me a line.

I'm happy to hear that you are doing well. I'm sorry the girls have the same blood disorder. It's good that you know and can do what you need to for it.
Back, Julie! I am so sorry about the loss of your dh.
I am glad things are going well for you now and you are happy again.
